Since I am writing this article, I thought it would make sense to explain what I do.
Over time, I developed a simple methodology based on what actually works with journalists. It rests on five main ideas.
The first is finding genuine news value. We look for a real story that has tension, urgency, interesting people, solid background and a clear impact on the industry or on everyday users. We avoid straight company announcements and instead shape the angle so it feels relevant to readers.
The second is supplying original data. We pull together fresh surveys or internal numbers that no one else has. This gives journalists something concrete they can quote and build a story around.
Third, I think like an editor. Before anything goes out I review the idea honestly. If it does not feel like a story I tell the client straight and we keep working until it fits what newsrooms actually need.
Fourth comes empathy and persistence. Newsrooms stay busy so I follow up gently, build relationships over months and never take silence personally.
Last is being a helpful partner. I send clear facts, quick quotes and fast interview setups so the journalist can work without extra hassle.
This way of working has become the core of how I handle PR for crypto projects in Singapore. It focuses on respect for the journalist and on creating pitches that feel useful rather than pushy.
